Clifford's AVANTGUARD 5.5 Thatcham Category-1 system meets and exceeds the highest standards of the UK insurance industry, and installing one may qualify you for discounted vehicle insurance as a result. The 5.5s built-in tandem immobiliser circuit is self-arming soon after you park so that your vehicle always remains protected, and these main electronics also reside in an armoured-steel enclosure as an added security measure.

Entrance zones
The Alarm system gives protection to the boot bonnet and doors of the vehicle. If any of these zones are forced open by a theft, the alarm system will activate and sound instantly.
Immobilisation
Built in immobiliser can protect either the starter, ignition or fuel circuit of the car. When alared, the alarm system cuts the circuit stopping the vehicle from starting.

Keyless Entry
The Alarm system can be connected to the vehicles standarded factory fitted central door locking to give remote keyless entry (remote locking) Some cars may need an additional motor fitted to the driverside door as an extra. this controls the standard locking. Most japanese cars. The way to test if your vehicle needs an additional motor is to lock the doors from the passenger side door. If all the doors lock then a motor is not needed.Cars with out any form of central door locking can be fitted with aftermarket actuators kits (Please call/email if you are unsure if your car needs this)
Deadlocks
Most cars built after 1999 are fitted with deadlocks which can be connected and controlled by the alarm system. These can be activated via the alarms remote.
Total closure.
Most new cars are fitted with total closure as standard. This can be connected to the alarm system to roll your windows up automatically with the push of a button on your remote. Some older cars have not got this feature as standard. These vehicles will need a window closure module (Please note this is an extra) Once wired in The module can automatically roll up two power windows when a security system is armed.To find out isf your car has this fitted as standard, close all the vehicles doorswith the windows open and lock the car from the driverside outer door lock with the key. keep the key turned over in the lock position for 3-5 seconds. It the windows start to close then the extra window module is not needed |

Remote Power Window Control

This unique device is designed to temporarily bypass most transponder type immobiliser systems when remote starting. The system works by using one of your spare keys to transmit the uniquely coded signal to the receiver coil in the key cylinder.
The key is placed inside the bypass module which is then located in a secure place under the dashboard. A lead then runs from this and loops around the ignition barrel.
The coded signal identifies to the vehicles computer that a valid key is present and thereby enabling remote starting. The unit will only operate as a bypass when the vehicle has been remote started. |
